Frankston 2025 Community Workshops

From September to December 2006, 200 people from across Frankston City were involved in the Frankston 2025 Community Workshops.

The goal of the workshops was to share our views and discover our common aspirations for the future of Frankston City and our entire municipality. This information, together with the information gathered at the Frankston 2025 Conference and through the Frankston 2025 Community Surveys, contributed to the final Community Vision.

Workshops were held in local neighbourhoods including Seaford, Frankston North, Carrum Downs, Langwarrin, Frankston South and Frankston.

Additional workshops were organised on a needs basis with young people, local schools, community groups and committees to ensure that any underrepresented groups identified throughout the process were involved during the consultations.

Many of the themes above cut across to other themes. For example, although the term 'edible landscapes' from the Frankston 2025 Conference focused on community gardens (contributing to a 'healthy, active, inclusive community'), it is also considered an important aspect of connecting our communities (contributing to 'a connected community').
