Re: Comments on Frankston 2025 Community WorkshopsThe themes listed in the Community Workshops Report seem to reflect the issues raised by the Langwarrin community. The tourism theme/issue however is one that must be handled with great care. If more tourism means greater amounts of vehicle traffic on weekends this disadvantages residents and reduces quality of life. Frankston needs to make it clear why non-residents should come to Frankston rather than Mornington, Rosebud, Rye or Sorrento. Mega shopping centres with pay carparks and a main street full of tattoo parlours, pool halls, hock shops, and real estate agents does not portray a desirable image. A vibrant tourism precinct requires family friendly daytime activities. All over the world cities and towns with well planned strip shopping precincts attract the most tourists.
